JTEKT has successfully developed [High Corrosion Resistant Bearing-LS] for special environments

Among corrosion-resistant bearings used in equipment such as high-performance film manufacturing, JTEKT has developed the [High Corrosion-Resistant Bearing®-LS], which has higher wear resistance and a life approximately twice as long as current products. As a result, JTEKT contributes to extending the maintenance intervals of customer equipment.


Development background

In environments where rust preventive oil cannot be used, in order to prevent rust, martensitic stainless steel bearings are usually used, but in highly corrosive environments such as water or solutions, precipitation hardening stainless steel bearings (equivalent to current high corrosiveness) are used. Corrosion Resistant Bearing®-MD*1). Although precipitation hardening stainless steel has higher corrosion resistance than ordinary bearing stainless steels, it has problems of lower hardness and lower wear resistance. Depending on the conditions of use, the customer needs to replace the bearing within a short period of time.


Main features and effects of developed products

Since the raceway ring (inner and outer rings) is made of high corrosion-resistant stainless steel, it has the following advantages and usage effects compared with current products.
