CE-6006-SiSiPE is a 6006 full ceramic deep groove ball bearing featuring silicon nitride (Si₃N₄) inner and outer rings, Si₃N₄ ceramic balls, and a PEEK cage. Designed for demanding high-speed, thermally challenging, electrically insulating, and precision applications, it combines low density, high hardness, low thermal expansion, thermal shock resistance, and low-friction rolling performance.

Unlike hybrid ceramic bearings that use steel rings with ceramic balls, CE-6006-SiSiPE uses Si₃N₄ for both the bearing rings and rolling elements. This full ceramic construction is suitable for applications where electrical insulation, thermal stability, corrosion resistance, or non-metallic bearing materials are important.

Important Performance Notes

The actual limiting speed should be determined according to:

  • Rotational speed

  • Radial and axial load

  • Lubrication method

  • Bearing precision

  • Internal clearance

  • Cage configuration

  • Operating temperature

  • Shaft and housing fit

  • Installation accuracy

  • The speed ranges above are reference values for preliminary evaluation only. Higher loads, elevated temperatures, insufficient lubrication, excessive preload, unsuitable internal clearance or poor installation conditions can reduce the actual limiting speed. Final speed capability should be confirmed according to the complete bearing specification and operating conditions.

Need C and C₀ Load Ratings?

Basic dynamic load rating (C) and basic static load rating (C₀) should be confirmed according to the actual bearing configuration rather than estimated from the model number alone.

For bearing-life calculations or static safety evaluation, provide:

    • Rotational speed

    • Radial load

    • Axial load

    • Lubrication method

    • Operating temperature

    • Required service life

Our technical team can evaluate the application and coordinate the corresponding bearing data for confirmation.

Need exact performance data? Send us your operating conditions and required quantity. We can confirm the applicable bearing configuration, technical parameters and quotation before ordering.

    Why Choose CE-6006-SiSiPE?

    1. Full Si₃N₄ Bearing Construction

CE-6006-SiSiPE uses silicon nitride for both the inner and outer rings as well as the ceramic balls.

This distinguishes it from a hybrid ceramic bearing, which normally combines steel rings with Si₃N₄ balls.

The full ceramic structure is particularly relevant when ceramic material properties are required throughout the bearing.

    2. Low-Density Si₃N₄ Rolling Elements

Silicon nitride has a significantly lower density than conventional bearing steel.

Lower rolling-element mass can reduce centrifugal forces during high-speed operation and support high-speed bearing applications when combined with suitable lubrication, precision, clearance and cage design.

    3. Electrical Insulation

Si₃N₄ is an electrically insulating ceramic material.

Because both the rings and rolling elements are ceramic, CE-6006-SiSiPE can provide a non-metallic rolling contact structure for applications where electrical conductivity through the bearing is undesirable.

    Potential applications include:

    • Electric motors

    • High-speed spindles

    • Electrically sensitive machinery

    • Selected power equipment

For applications with specific dielectric requirements, application-level electrical testing is recommended.

    4. Thermal Stability and Thermal Shock Resistance

Silicon nitride has low thermal expansion and excellent thermal shock resistance compared with conventional bearing steel.

These properties can be beneficial in applications involving:

    • Rapid temperature changes

    • Repeated heating and cooling

    • Thermal gradients

    • Demanding operating environments

The temperature capability of the complete bearing must still be evaluated based on cage material, lubricant, speed, load and installation conditions.

    5. High Hardness and Stiffness

Si₃N₄ provides high hardness and elastic modulus, supporting stable rolling contact under suitable operating conditions.

Bearing service life, however, depends on the complete bearing system, including load, lubrication, contamination, alignment and installation.

When Should You Choose Full Ceramic?

A hybrid ceramic bearing may be sufficient when the primary requirement is reduced rolling-element mass and high-speed capability.

A full ceramic bearing is more appropriate when the application additionally requires ceramic rings, particularly for:

    • Electrical insulation

    • Thermal expansion considerations

    • Corrosion-sensitive environments

    • Non-metallic rolling structures

    • Specialized material compatibility

For applications without these requirements, hybrid ceramic bearings may provide a more economical alternative.

    Electrical ConductivityInsulatingConductive
    Thermal Shock ResistanceExcellentLower than Si₃N₄

These values are general material references and may vary according to material grade and manufacturing process.

    PEEK Cage for High-Speed Applications

CE-6006-SiSiPE uses a PEEK cage to separate and guide the Si₃N₄ ceramic balls.

    PEEK offers a combination of:

    • Low density

    • Mechanical strength

    • Thermal resistance

    • Chemical resistance in many environments

    • Suitability for selected high-speed applications

However, PEEK's material temperature capability should not be treated as the operating temperature limit of the complete bearing.

For elevated-temperature applications, the following should be evaluated together:

    • PEEK grade

    • Lubrication

    • Rotational speed

    • Load

    • Temperature cycle

    • Cage stress

    • Shaft and housing expansion

    • Required service life

    Frequently Asked Questions

What are the dimensions of the CE-6006-SiSiPE?

The standard 6006 bearing dimensions are:

    • Bore diameter: 30 mm

    • Outside diameter: 55 mm

    • Width: 13 mm

Precision, internal clearance and cage configuration should be confirmed according to the required application.

Is CE-6006-SiSiPE a full ceramic bearing?

Yes. The inner ring, outer ring and rolling elements are manufactured from silicon nitride (Si₃N₄), while the cage is made from PEEK.

What is the difference between full ceramic and hybrid ceramic bearings?

A hybrid ceramic bearing normally uses steel inner and outer rings with Si₃N₄ ceramic balls.

CE-6006-SiSiPE uses Si₃N₄ for both rings and balls, making it a full ceramic bearing.

Full ceramic construction is particularly relevant where electrical insulation, thermal expansion characteristics or non-metallic bearing materials are important.

Is CE-6006-SiSiPE suitable for high-speed applications?

It can be considered for high-speed applications. Silicon nitride is widely used in high-speed bearing applications because of its low density, high stiffness and favorable thermal properties.

Actual speed capability depends on precision, lubrication, load, clearance, cage design, temperature and installation conditions.

    What is the maximum speed?

There is no single maximum speed applicable to every configuration.

For preliminary evaluation, reference speed ranges are available:

    • Grease lubrication: approximately 25,000–35,000 rpm (reference)

    • Oil lubrication: approximately 35,000–45,000 rpm (reference)

The actual allowable operating speed should be confirmed according to the final bearing specification and operating conditions.

How can I obtain C and C₀ load ratings?

C and C₀ values depend on the confirmed bearing design and production specification.

For bearing-life calculations or static safety evaluation, provide your speed, radial load, axial load, lubrication method and operating temperature. The corresponding technical data can then be confirmed for the required configuration.

Is CE-6006-SiSiPE suitable for high-temperature applications?

The Si₃N₄ rings and balls provide excellent thermal stability and thermal shock resistance.

However, the complete bearing temperature capability is affected by the PEEK cage, lubricant, speed, load and installation conditions. The recommended operating temperature range for the complete bearing is approximately -40°C to +150°C (reference), subject to the above factors.

    Can CE-6006-SiSiPE operate without lubrication?

Not automatically. Full ceramic construction does not guarantee dry-running capability.

Oil-free or lubrication-free applications require application-specific evaluation of speed, load, heat dissipation, cage design and required service life.

Can the precision and clearance be customized?

Depending on the confirmed production configuration, different precision grades (ISO P2/P5/P0) and internal clearances (C2/C3/C4) may be available.

The appropriate precision and clearance should be selected according to speed, temperature, shaft/housing fits and operating conditions.
